The Global Standard of Strength

In the modern fitness landscape, strength is no longer subjective. It is a metric, quantifiable and comparable across borders. HobbyTier standardizes these metrics to provide a unified language for lifters worldwide.

Why SBD (Squat, Bench, Deadlift) Matters?

The "Big Three" compound movements are universally recognized as the gold standard for testing raw human potential. Unlike isolation exercises which target specific muscle groups, SBD movements require systemic recruitment of the Central Nervous System (CNS), skeletal structure, and muscular force.

  • Squat: The primary test of lower body pushing power and core stability. It is often referred to as the "King of Exercises".
  • Bench Press: The definitive metric for upper body pushing strength, engaging the pectorals, deltoids, and triceps.
  • Deadlift: The ultimate test of posterior chain strength and raw pulling power. If you can pick it up, you are strong.

K-Standard vs. Global Standard

Regional differences in strength standards have created confusion. In South Korea, the term "3대 500" (500kg Total) is a cultural milestone. However, is a 500kg total impressive for a 100kg lifter? Not necessarily. Global standards utilize coefficients like Wilks or DOTS to normalize strength against body weight.

At HobbyTier, we integrate these methodologies to provide a ranking system that is fair, transparent, and motivating. Whether you are a novice lifter aiming for the "Bronze" tier or an elite competitor chasing "Grandmaster", understanding where you stand globally is the first step to progress.

Data-Driven Training

Progression requires data. Without logging your numbers, you are guessing. Our tools allow you to visualize your strength curve, identify plateaus, and adjust your programming (Linear Periodization, DUP, or Block Periodization) accordingly. We believe that hobbies should be taken seriously, and data is the bridge between a hobbyist and an expert.

We are building more than just a calculator. We are building an open-source ecosystem where developers can contribute modules for Running, Coding, Gaming, and more. If it has a score, we can rank it. If it has a tier, we can standardize it.
